Setting up FedEx

NOTE: You will need a FedEx account number AND a meter number BEFORE you can use the automated integration features. See this guide for instructions on getting your FedEx meter number.

After you configure your shipping methods, you should always test to ensure they are properly configured. Note that there are both a test and live processing mode. Be sure to use LIVE after you are done testing.

Setting Up FedEx Using

After selecting automated integration, you will notice three FedEx account fields will appear.

  1. Enter in your FedEx Account Number
  2. Enter in your FedEx Meter Number, if you need help retrieving your Meter Number Click Here to see our help guide
  3. Add your Email address thats associated with your FedEx account
  4. After entering your account information click Save

 

 

Setting Up FedEx Using Real-Time Rates

After selecting Yes for automated integration you will be prompted with the following:

  1. Select Real-Time Rates. NOTE: After select Real-Time Rates, you will see an addition option appear, 'Split large shipments.'  
    • Click Here if you are using Full Pricing Control instead
  2. This will allow you to create multiple packages once a maximum weight becomes present
  3. Select from PNG, PDF, and DOC for the label file format.
  4. Select from 4X6, 4X8, 4X9, 7X4.75, and 8.5X11 for the label size.
  5. FedEx Account Number
  6. FedEx Meter Number
  7. Email
  8. Click Save

 

Side Note: We recommend clicking test to ensure that you've successfully entered the correct FedEx credentials

 

Setting Up Account Using Full-Pricing Control

  1. Select Full Pricing Control. Note: After you enable Full Pricing Control, some FedEx Account Info fields may dissapear since they are no longer required. You will now also see a $ icon as seen below to manage the shipping rates of exsisting shipping methods.
  2. Click on the $ button will allow you to set up your pricing for the method.
  3. Depending on our shipping method settings the minimum could calculate from the weight, order total, or order product count total. The figure below shows weight as an example.
  4. The Store Override Schedual will allow you to set an override for the shipping method to use in certain stores.
 

Creating a Shipping Method

After clicking 'Save' from the step below you can expand FedEx  and you will see a 'Shipping Method' accordion. Here you will see a warning that no shipping method have yet been configured.

  1. Click 'Add New Shipping Method'
 

Creating a Shipping Method with Real-Time Rates

After clicking the 'Add New Shipping Method' button you will see the following controls:

  1. Add Method From Template: One you create shipping methods, you can create a copy and modify to create additional shipping methods.
  2. Create Custom Shipping Method: Here you can configure each shipping method.
    • Method Name: Name of shipping option. This is what you shopper will see. Examples: Ground, 3-Day, etc.
    • Stores: You can assign the method to a single store or ALL stores.
    • Description (optional): Add a description to the shipping method to help keep everything orginized. The descriptions will only be visible in the admin are of InkSoft.
    • **FedEx Method: Select the FedEx method you would like to associate with the newly created store shipping method. Real-Time rates will use the selected method to generate the shipping cost. Note: The shipping method will not work if you select a FedEx method thats not supported on your actual FedEx account.
    • Process Days: How many days to process the order.
    • RUSH Markup(%): You can define a RUSH markup for this method.
    • Days in Transit Min: Minimum days in transit for the method.
    • Days in Transit Max: Maximum days in transit for the method.
    • No Discounts: Exclude discounts for applying to this shipping method.
    • No Shipping Address: Allow customers so select this method with out filling in a shipping address. Note: This option does not work for the Starter theme, Fundraiser Stores, Signs & Banners stores.
    • Shipping Restrictions: Here you can make decisions about where you are willing to ship. PO Box, Commercial, residential and countries.
    • Active: When selected the method is 'on' and available.
    • Sort Order: The order in which the method displays when the Shipping Account has been selected.
  3. Click the Save button when done

**This field is only available with Real-Time Rates

 

Creating a Shipping Method with Full Pricing Control

Shipping Method Options

    • **Calculation Method: Select from Weight, Item Total, and Item Count to be used to caculate the shipping cost.
    • Process Days: How many days to process the order.
    • RUSH Markup(%): You can define a RUSH markup for this method.
    • Days in Transit Min: Minimum days in transit for the method.
    • Days in Transit Max: Maximum days in transit for the method.
    • No Discounts: Exclude discounts for applying to this shipping method.
    • No Shipping Address: Allow customers so select this method with out filling in a shipping address. Note: This option does not work for the Starter theme, Fundraiser Stores, Signs & Banners stores.

    • Active: When selected the method is 'on' and available.

    • **Shipping Price: Set the intial price for the shipping method when the minimum is 0. If you need you adjust the minimum or add additional pricing lines click the $ button to the right of the shipping method after it has been created.
  3. Click the Save button when done

**This field is only available with Full Pricing Control

 

Successfully Created Method

After you create your shipping method, it will appear as seen below. To manage the newly created Method:

  1. Click the name of the method will allow you to edit.
  2. Set the Pricing for the shipping method, this option will only show if you are using full-pricing control. Refer to Setting up Account Using Full-Pricing Control above.
  3. Here you can click the trash icon to delete.
